Sarmat 3 has been initially designed as a replacement of its predecessor, Sarmat 2. However, it differs from the predecessor by a new aerodynamic profile and reduced air inlets.

When engineering Sarmat 3, the goal was set to accumulate all the advantages of its previous generations. Easy and pleasant launch, excellent maneuvering ability, clear and precise handling, comfortable behavior during towing make it interesting for a wide range of pilots, including advanced leisure pilots, cross-country pilots, and beginning competition pilots.
